His photograph Black Sheep & White Crow, which featured a woman sitting next to a partly clad young girl, was showing as part of a series from the well-known Czech photographer presenting various dreamscapes, with nude or semi-nude figures, and investigating erotic themes. Saudek is one of the key exhibitors in the core program for the festival. The novel's major concern is with police brutality, as Jus must learn how to live in a world where he might be killed by a police officer at any moment. Police brutality can be defined by the unjust and unwarranted use of force by a member of law enforcement against a citizen. The end of the third book, The White Rose, saw the storied mercenary company whittled down to a handful of survivors. All the different POVs made the story move really slow and I was completely uninterested in what was going on. I still liked reading the parts by 'A' and I still found Rhiannon annoying. While the initial idea behind 'A' was amazing, the story wasn't going anywhere special.This book moves very slowly and jumps between Nathan, 'A', 'X', 'M', and Rhiannon. I read the first 100 pages of this and remembered why I gave the 2nd book in this series such a low rating. ![]() I was pretty disappointed in “Another Day” and was hoping this book would do a better job of summing up A’s story. I was excited to get this book from Amazon Vine to review because I absolutely loved “Every Day”. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The quips work better in her fantasy works than horror ones imo. ![]() The Twisted Ones, her first horror novel, is so compelling and well structured on paper (and bits are legitimately extremely creepy) but it could use someone going through it with a red pen and cutting out a lot of the humorous narration. I'm a huge fan of hers but I have to admit, I think she goes a bit hard on the whole down to earth yet quirky protagonist schtick sometimes.
